About Us
Our Story
Golden Valley Farms is run by Amish farmers Samuel and Katie Fisher and their six children, all under the age of 13, in Cumberland County near Farmville, Virginia. Both Samuel and Katie come from generations of dairy and cattle farmers, and they established Golden Valley Farms in 2019.
Farm life is very much a family effort. The older boys help with milking, while the children also gather, wipe, and pack the chicken and duck eggs. The girls help bottle-feed the many babies that are regularly being raised on the farm, and all of the children spend plenty of time caring for and enjoying the animals around them.
Samuel and Katie raise registered Guernsey cows, goats, poultry, and other livestock while managing the many day-to-day responsibilities of a working family farm. The children grow up alongside that work, learning how to care for animals, help with chores, and take part in producing the foods and farm products the family shares with customers through Golden Valley Farms.
